Improvisation for Leadership with Andrew McMasters

Andrew McMasters, an exciting and well-respected facilitator and skilled actor is coming to ATDps! Andrew will be leading you through one of his famous Improv for Learning workshops, this time focused on leadership and change management practices. In this highly interactive and collaborative workshop, you'll use improvisational techniques to practice specific leadership skills. You'll learn what works for you and develop an understanding of your unique leadership style. The improvisational work gives you the physical experience of trying each skill and the ability to replicate that in your daily practice. It is a safe place to experiment and create relationships and applications to your own work.

You will practice interpersonal communications, committing to action, ensuring follow through, as well as understanding how to build an inclusive culture - all skills you can take back and apply directly to your own leadership programs. The session is aimed at those who are experiencing change in their organization, those who want to be a catalyst for change, and those who want to use change to help organizations evolve.

There is free street parking and ample paid parking at an adjacent lot, as well as bus-line access from downtown. It's only 1 min from the I5 exit. The space will be private for our members and there is both indoor and outdoor space.

Andrew McMasters is an actor, director and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in the arts. He is a founder of Jet City Improv, a non-profit theater that he managed for 25 years, and worked for multiple Fortune 500 companies to provide presentation support and messaging as well as team building and communications trainings. Andrew is dedicated to experiential learning, providing opportunities for self-discovery and driving innovation in our everyday lives.

Did you know that a diverse network is the second biggest predictor of a high performer?  Hear what our amazing Special Events Manager, Jenn Gile has to say!

Up-level your potential by joining ATD Puget Sound at the event of the summer. You will learn strategies for growing your network and connect with amazing professionals from around the region - and have a ton of fun - at the quirky local treasure Georgetown Stables. Let this event be the spark of inspiration that lights your career on fire!

Your ticket gets you access to the event plus food and drinks. Stay tuned for more details!

    About the Venue

Located in the South Seattle neighborhood of Georgetown, the Stables is rumored to have the oldest standing wall in the neighborhood dating back to 1888. In the first decade of the 1900s, the Meadows Racetrack, now the home of Boeing Field, was a huge draw for this city. During this time the Stables was used to house race horses from the track. The building still maintains its best original features; the high ceilings, brick walls and beautiful thick ceiling beams represent the best of historical structures from this era. The space is furnished with antique and vintage items and oddities.

    Parking

The parking lot outside of The Stables has 40 parking spaces and is a first come first serve situation. There is street parking and a large lot just a few blocks away and parking is not a big issue. Public transportation, ridesharing, or carpooling is encouraged!

    Sponsorship

Interested in sponsoring this event? Reach out to Special Events Manager Jenn Gile (specialeventsmanager@atdpugetsound.org).

Join us in Fremont on the first Thursday of each month to network, exchange ideas, resources, and leads, and enjoy good company! We welcome anyone and everyone who may be interested -- from the seasoned veterans to those just getting into the field of training and development.

We recommend pre-registering if you can, but it's not required. During the summer months, the group can be found out on the back patio. During the winter months, we're usually located inside in the farthest right corner. If you can't find us, ask the staff -- they'll send you in the right direction!
