Virtual Member Event - "Flipping the Paradigm": Recap

In the virtual Member Event that happened this week, Daniel Hallak from WiLD Leaders led the group through a mock leadership-building activity in which we evaluated a group of five of “employees” and selected one to target for development. Next, he challenged us to reflect: What existing paradigms and assumptions are there that lead us to select “potential leaders”? Why do we select so few? Together, we worked toward what could be an ideal leadership development framework -- and decided to throw out the “top 15% of performers” paradigm altogether! Instead, we shifted our thinking about what a “top performer” is, and why we should target more and different individuals on our teams for development as leaders.

Member Events' Quarterly Theme for July-August 2019: A Time and Place for Everything: Asynchronous & Virtual Training

When we deliver content virtually or asynchronously, we must design the content intentionally for these learning environments; otherwise, we will frustrate our learners! The focus of Q3 Member Events will be designing modern instruction for the right time (asynchronous or live online) and place (LMS, webinar or virtual classroom). Attendees will experience the decisions and differences between these non-standard classroom training environments and the key considerations when designing learning experiences for each.

Details on July-August Member Events coming soon!
