Are you looking to up your accessibility game for yourself or your organization but don’t know where to begin?
In this session, you’ll learn about how to make your workplace more accessible to people with disabilities. Learn about accessibility best practices and how to model inclusive behaviors in the workplace. Get hands-on, practical experience to learn how to design accessible training experiences, and how to increase the accessibility of your existing programs. Learn about what resources are available to help you on your path, and how you can stay ahead of the learning curve.

Join ATD Puget Sound as Star & Thomas guide us through their thought process when designing for accessibility. After the session concludes, you'll be able create a more inclusive work environment for employees with disabilities.

Star Peterson (they/them) is an instructional designer and diversity trainer. They specialize in training employers about how to support their Disabled employees and their employees who are members of the LGBTQ community. They also work as a freelance eLearning developer and Vyond animator.

Thomas Peavey started in the field of Instructional Design with Alaska Airlines in 2015 after several years of classroom teaching experience. More recently, he was an eLearning Program Manager at Harborview Medical Center. In 2021, he transitioned into a consultant role with UW Medicine. In addition to designing and developing content for annual compliance/regulatory training, he consults with stakeholders and instructional designers across all UW Medicine entities to determine training needs and solutions. He is also working towards his PMP certification.
