 ASTDps: October 2013 Chapter Meeting

Let’s Play! How to Gamify Your Learning Experience

Learning needs to change to meet today’s demands. Traditional learning methods struggle to keep up with this phenomenon and are slow to realize the value intended. Learning should be lean and using gamified learning opens the door to a new way to learn.  Gamified content provides natural motivators including social behavior, competition, achievement, adventure, and more. Embracing this new learning channel paves the way to achieve employee engagement, productivity, collaboration, innovation, learning adoption and sustainability. This presentation outlines design concepts for utilizing gamified learning, discusses considerations for transforming current learning content, and helps participants identify ways to gamify their organization’s current learning.  Through a blend of lectures, discussions and group activities, attendees will gain a better awareness of the impact of gamification, as well as how to design a gamification project and deploy gamification learning within an organization.
