Tuesday, December 6, 2016 – Coaching with Emily Barnett
TOPIC: Coaching: Apply a systematic process to improve others’ ability to set goals, take action, and maximize strengths).
During Employee Learning Week (ELW), we will be having a special presentation on coaching by Emily Barnett, Senior Project Manager at Invista Performance Solutions, who will examine various practices and innovations in an engaging and lively discussion.
On Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 5:30 pm, Emily Barnett, Senior Project Manager at Invista, will facilitate our upcoming discussion on the topic of Coaching. In her role at Invista, she has managed several coaching and training projects including:
Additionally, we will utilize Skype for a Q/A session with Katherin Scott, one of the coaches that Emily has worked closely with over the past six years. Katherin has managed, coached, and trained for over 20 years in one of the nation's Fortune 500 companies and has since taken her executive coaching skills to help others enhance their lives, their businesses, and their relationships.
About Emily:
As Senior Project Manager, Emily Barnett is responsible for managing the development and delivery of Invista Performance Solutions’ services. In this role, she works closely with instructional facilitators to design programs that meet the unique needs of each client. Emily also helps recruit and assess subject matter experts and instructors for training opportunities.
From 2010 to present, Ms. Barnett has managed delivery of training, development, and coaching services for over 25 clients including SAFE Boats International, Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region, WorkForce Central, City of Tacoma, Pierce County Public Works, and the SEIU 775 Benefits Group, Training Partnership. She has managed numerous project series including Warehousing and Logistics, Supervisory Success, Continuous Process Improvement, and Executive Leader Coaching.
Emily has been selected by her peers as a leader and works throughout the year facilitating monthly development webinars on current training and development issues to her colleagues in the Global Corporate College network. She serves as the President for her Toastmasters Club – Tacoma #13 Earlybirds. Emily has a Master of Arts in Teaching and Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Puget Sound. She has earned her Washington State teaching credential.
ABOUT: The Sound South Interest Group is provides an opportunity for talent development and learning professionals who live or work the South Puget Sound area to network, learn and share with each other.
WHO ATTENDS: Anyone with a passion for talent and learning development are welcome to attend. We encourage attendees to join the ATD Puget Sound Chapter and participate in chapter events.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE: In addition to networking and sharing, each meeting focuses on an ATD Area of Expertise and is aligned with the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) Certification Program. Meetings may be eligible for CPLP Recertification Credits.
FACILITATING: The meeting facilitator will be rotated among group members. The facilitator will guide the meeting and coordinate the presentation of the area of expertise.
