These days it's more affordable than ever to get the equipment needed to perform your own eLearning narration. But how can you be sure that your narration isn't distracting your learners with poor audio quality, excessive echo, and background noise?
Using free software we'll take you from raw, unedited recordings to finished audio files. Helping you get the most out of your DIY narration.
We'll learn how to:
- Get the best possible sound out of your recording space
- Remove excessive silence
- Split one longer recording into multiple, properly named files
- Ensure volume is even across all files and at a comfortable level for learners
- Remove background noise
You'll also have the chance to get your questions about the narration and editing process answered.
Speaker Bio:
Josh Risser is a professional voice talent and host of the DIY Narrator podcast. He originally got his start in voice over by designing, developing and narrating eLearning projects at work. He developed a strong passion for L&D as a former corporate trainer for a Fortune 500 company and board member of the Big Sky Chapter of ATD.
As a voice over talent, he brings a laid-back conversational style to the projects he is a part of. His eLearning narrations sound like you're having a chat with a guy on the job, not being read to by a robot in a stuffy training room.
He's on a quest to remove dry and lifeless narration from the world, ensuring nobody ever suffers through boring training again.

Online Registration Closes One Day Prior To The Chapter Meeting. At That Time We Are No Longer Able To Accept Pre-Registrations.
We are not able to issue refunds after the Friday prior to the meeting. Substitutions are encouraged.
