Are you looking to expand your knowledge base, increase your confidence and credibility, and the value and proficiency that you bring to your work, while having an increased impact on organizational outcomes?

The Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) professional certification is for TD professionals with at least five years of experience. According to the Association for Talent Development, successful CPTDs report the process of studying for and getting their CPTD designation was a tremendous growth opportunity—it allowed them to learn and give back to the profession and made a positive impact on their careers.

Prepare to write the certification exam in 2022 by joining the  CPTD Study Group with ATD Puget Sound this spring!

Study groups are a great way to supplement your individual study. Benefits include:

  • Gaining insights and challenging old ways of thinking

  • Receiving support and encouragement from others pursuing the same goal

  • Holding yourself accountable to the steps to meet a target

You’ll be connected with a dedicated group of candidates and provided guidance on how to systematically study the capability areas from the Talent Development Capability Module

Please note this study group is not a course designed to teach material or fully prepare to take an exam, but rather a supplement to help you achieve your goals.

To contribute to the success of the study group, members are expected to:

  • Complete the assigned reading before each session

  • Come prepared and on time for each weekly session

  • Be actively engaged in breakout sessions

  • Sign up to facilitate a few breakout sessions

  • Provide feedback so that we can continue to make this a successful program

Not sure if the study group is right for you? Have a question? Please reach out to our CPTD Manager (CPTDmanager@atdpugetsound.org) before the registration deadline.

*Note about the Talent Development Book of Knowledge from ATD:

The TDBoK is the first-ever comprehensive collection of concepts, definitions, methodologies, and examples covering the 23 capability areas identified in the Talent Development Capability Model, which is the foundation for ATD CI’s certification programs, the Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD), and the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD). The TDBoK can serve as an important resource for exam preparation.

The TDBoK is not included with the cost of the study group. You can purchase the TDBoK from ATD Store here:https://www.td.org/tdbok. If you enroll in ATD’s CPTD prep course, the TDBoK is included with the cost of the association's program.

ATDps receives 10 percent ChIP revenue for each digital TDBoK sold through the ATD Store when purchasers enter the chapter code CH8020. Every person that uses the ChIP code when making a purchase on the ATD website will be contributing to ATDps’ financial health, further enabling us to accomplish our chapter's mission!
