In February, the CEO of Yahoo! abolished the telecommuting option for employees, the rationale being that Yahoo! needs to vigorously promote the face-to-face interaction that leads to creative collaboration and, ultimately, innovation as it does for rivals Google and Apple. HR experts, on the other hand, warn that the change will have negative consequences on employee morale and productivity without helping innovation. These perspectives provide much to discuss.
