  Creating
Extraordinary Teams:  What Facilitators, Consultants, and Team
Coaches Need to Know

With Kathleen Ryan and Deborah Ward

In today’s organizations, work gets done in groups.  Whether we are internal or external consultants, facilitators, or coaches, our clients hire us to increase the effectiveness and performance of teams.  Supporting the growth of extraordinary teams goes straight to the heart of what we are asked to do and want to do.  Goals are surpassed; talent and energy are built and released into an organization; positive relationships and networks are established; commitment to the organization grows when group members know that their efforts make a difference!

In February of this year, Kathleen Ryan, consultant and co-author of Extraordinary Groups:  How Ordinary Teams Achieve Amazing Results (Jossey-Bass, 2009) whetted the appetites of members of the PNODN for more depth on this essential topic. She, along with colleague Debbie Ward, will be leading a full day workshop which will provide facilitators, team coaches, and consultants with:

·        Understanding of the differences between ordinary and extraordinary teams

·        Conceptual models that can guide the design and facilitation of group workshops or events

·        Strategies and practical tools for immediate use with teams

Participants are encouraged to bring their own case studies to this highly interactive session.  Kathy and Debbie will share examples from the extraordinary group field research and from their own practices.  This workshop will challenge your assumptions about both teams and your role in working with them.
