ATDps is a partner with Learnapalooza - the PacNW's only conference dedicated to #innovation and #disruption in learning! We invite learning professionals of all stripes - from OD and HR to traditional L&D to Coaches to come learn from and have fun with some local (and not so local!) colleagues in making learning and growing at work not suck!

Join us this May 2&3 for Learnapalooza's LAP XL. This year we take a cue from pop culture and the "Hero's Journey" archetype to explore:

Superhero You: Bridge Your Skills Gap

Connect. Learn. Build. Play. Be a SUPERHERO.

We know that we're all capable of being super at our jobs--and LAP helps bring out the inner superhero in all of us-- even if we don't have Black Panther's advanced tech, Captain America's strength, Thor's chiseled good looks, or Black Widow's stealth.

SO... for one and a half days, we'll showcase great ideas from amazing session facilitators. We want to help others level up their own abilities. We want to harness the powers of the collective to become the best teams and colleagues we can be.

Registration is now open. Get your seat while the gettin’s good – this event will sell out!

1.5 days of badass people and rad content in a fun, non-traditional conference environment

We’ll take over part of the iconic downtown Seattle Library

    May 2nd (9AM – 5PM) & May 3rd (9AM – 12PM)

Member Pricing for our Colleagues at ATDps

    Join us on February 12th

at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue WA

LWHRA is proud to partner with the Association for Talent Development on networking and training opportunities. We would like to show our appreciation for this joint partnership by extending our member pricing for Symposium to our colleagues at ATDps.

Please join us for the largest all-day event organized by our association, attracting more than 350 attendees. HR Professionals are working in the knowledge economy. We know that information is our most valuable commodity and, in an era, where we are being pulled in multiple directions, our goal at the 2019 Symposium is to "Get Focused and Cut Out the Noise" for one day and focus on your development.

These days, information is available in almost infinite abundance, delivered automatically to our electronic devices or accessible with a few clicks of the mouse. New research suggests that the surging volume of available information—and its interruption of people’s work—can adversely affect decision making, innovation, and productivity. At the 2019 Symposium, you will get the chance to slow down, focus on learning, meet industry leaders, and discover innovative products and services with our vendors and sponsors.

When registering use code: member (registration ends February 7th)

We look forward to seeing you there!!

    Sincerely,

    LWHRA Symposium Committee

Ms. Jane Elliott, world renowned teacher and activist, will present her extraordinary seminar, "The Anatomy of Prejudice" on Saturday, December 1st. The 4-hour seminar introduces the widely-known Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes Exercise, which is the subject of the film, "The Eye of the Storm." Ms. Elliott used the exercise to teach her 3rd grade students about prejudice the day after Martin Luther King was assassinated.

The seminar is hosted by the Institute for Sustainable Diversity and Inclusion (ISDI) and is the final event of the 20th Anniversary Year Celebration of the NW Diversity Learning Series, which ISDI also hosts.

“If you aren’t angry about racism in America you’re

probably white, because you don’t think it’s affecting

    you.” --Jane Elliott

Ms. Elliott has taught the Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes Exercise about prejudice to many groups around the world. Many of those who have experienced this exercise say it is emotionally significant and life-changing.

Participants will gain valuable insights, tools, resources and activities designed to help them identify their own biased statements, behaviors, and attitudes -- helping them to decrease the amount of racism, sexism, homophobia, ethnocentrism and other "isms" in their environment!
