    As part of this mission, the Compensation & Classification unit administers the Citywide job classification and compensation programs for approximately 12,500 regular employees and more than 1,200 job classifications. This work is based on and champions equity by identifying potential systemic inequities in position allocation and compensation, analyzing perceived and actual race, gender, and age disparities in City government.  Within this unit, we have an opportunity for a Compensation & Classification Trainee to build HR skills that are in high demand.     Job Responsibilities

    In this role, you would start by learning the fundamentals of City of Seattle Compensation & Classification, including:

    • Learning the role, value, and impact of Job Classification work in the organization
    • Reviewing and using a Position Description Questionnaire (PDQ) to determine job classification
    • Learning critical City guidelines, policies, and ordinances
    • Engaging with team members, department members, and citywide partners to solve problems

    Who you are

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
